BANKSTAR financial Community SCHOLARSHIPS
Each BankStar Financial location will award a $1,000 scholarship to a student that meets the eligibility requirements and completes the application in its entirety.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the BankStar Financial Scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
- High School Senior
- Attending an accredited post high school educational institution, preferably in South Dakota.
- You or your immediate family must be either a primary or secondary owner on a deposit account, a primary owner or co-borrower on a loan account, or a primary owner of an insurance policy.
- Employees and members of the Board of Directors of BankStar Financial, and the immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children, and each of their respective spouses regardless of where they live) and persons living in the households of these individuals, whether related or not, are not eligible.

additional sD bankers foundation scholarship opportunities
The South Dakota Bankers Foundation has five scholarships available directly to students expressing an interest in pursuing a career in banking, finance or business. These include one $4,000 scholarship, three $3,000 scholarships and one $1,500 scholarship that are available to university Seniors (in the fall of 2025).
